Appalachian mountain banjo

The body of this banjo has been made from an Edwardian mahogany wardrobe retaining the original marquetry on the back. and the neck was mae from the remains of a 1920s piano. Its is stained poplar with the original burl walnut veneer on the fingerboard.

All of my mountain banjos have been built using the Stanley Hicks instructions in Foxfire 3, but with some modifications to geometry in order to improve playability and tone.
